Designing our flagship retail space from the ground up, sourcing every fixture, fitting and finish and project managing the build out was an incredible opportunity and a labor of love. I raised £100,000 from our community to complete the project, learned how to build a 3D model of my vision for the space, negotiated with commercial property lawyers, building management and tradespeople, managed the evolving timeline to move from our original, much smaller premises, and kept our our community of shareholders, customers and staff up to date and enthusiastic about the grand opening. When the new premises was handed over to us, after months of delays, it was a shell and a mess. In six weeks my team and I transformed it into a vibrant retail shop, class studio and community hub that inspired and delighted every person who walked through our doors.
