My vision for The Village Haberdashery was a space where our creative community could gather, be inspired and build connection with each other and our brand. Community events were an enormous part of both our customer acquisition and retention strategy. Our events, which included pop-ups, designer meet & greets, charity fundraisers, book parties, movie screenings, clothing swaps, creative entrepreneur networking nights, sewing meetups and more, drew new and repeat customers into our space and provided them with inspiration, connection and a story worth sharing. The business benefited from an average of 50% higher revenue on days when we hosted events, an immediate social media boost, an increase in the lifetime value for attendees and content we could leverage in multiple ways across our owned marketing channels, including our blog, newsletter and social media. Partnering with other local businesses and organizations enabled us to create events that could grow our audience and co-marketing opportunities.
